The Village of Hamburg Board of Trustees is the legislative body of the Village government and includes an elected Mayor and four (4) Trustees. The Board of Trustees are elected to terms by the residents of the Village of Hamburg. The Board of Trustees manages Village property and finances and takes all measures and enacts local laws for the good government of the Village, its management and business, the protection of its property, the safety, health, comfort, and general welfare of its inhabitants, the protections of their property, the preservation of peace and good order, the suppression of vice, the benefit of trade, and the preservation and protection of public works. The Mayor is the chief executive of the Village. Since incorporation of the Village, the Trustees provide for the overall guidance and direction of the Village. They are ultimately responsible for issues relating to local laws and ordinances and the Village budget.
